Enhanced Reliability and Resilience Score (ERRS) Worksheet

Purpose The Enhanced Reliability and Resilience Score (ERRS) provides a clear, consistent way to compare and prioritize mitigation options. It combines expert judgment with a quantitative framework to weigh options on a common scale and identify those that most effectively improve energy system reliability and resilience relative to cost.

Instructions Start by identifying two or more mitigation options under consideration. Then evaluate each option across the components listed below, using a 1–5 scale for each. If some components matter more than others, agree on their relative importance before scoring. Apply a combination of expert and stakeholder judgment to ensure that a broad range of perspectives inform the scoring and weighting process.

Calculation

Calculation Steps Add the Reliability and Resilience scores first, then multiply by the Feasibility, Acceptability, and Vulnerable Population Impact scores. Finally, divide the total by the Cost Score to get the ERRS value for each option.
